With 800 km of signposted hiking trails in the Renchtal, you'll be happy to plan a few extra vacation days to take in the highlight hikes. Our hiking tips:
- From the nearby Oppenau train station to the Allerheiligen waterfalls with the Allerheiligen monastery ruins.
- Quality hiking trail "Turmsteig" in Oppenau-Maisach (start approx. 3 km away) up to the Buchkopf tower
- Premium trail "Himmelssteig" in the neighboring village of Bad Peterstal-Griesbach
- 100 km long-distance hiking trail "Renchtalsteig", for example stage 2 from Oppenau to Bad Peterstal

The new Renchtal cycle path - from Lautenbach via Ramsbach, Oppenau, Ibach, Löcherberg to Bad Peterstal and Bad Griesbach - passes directly by Hotel Mühlenglück.

You can take off for paragliding over the Black Forest at 4 launch sites in Oppenau. And that in all wind directions: Sandkopf launch site, Schäfersfeld launch site, Roßbühl launch site, Ibacher Holzplatz launch site.

Winter sports in the Black Forest
Ski & cross country skiing
At the Seibelseckle ski lift, directly on the Black Forest High Road, 500 m of snow-covered, moderately difficult slope await you, a ski rental shop and - should you want even more fun after skiing - a toboggan run. At the Ruhestein ski lift, 1 km of easy slopes offer skiing pleasure when winter shows its white side.
Cross-country skiing in the Northern Black Forest
Classic or skating? When there is enough snow, 120 km of cross-country ski trails are ready for you on the Black Forest High Road between Herrenwies and Ruhestein. You can rent cross-country skiing equipment at the ski lift Seibelseckle and go directly from there into the track.
